We have an immediate opportunity for an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer in our Arctic group based in Edmonton. You will be able to:
Work on and design large civil infrastructure projects in the north, from conceptual to detailed design, to construction and as-built reporting.
Be part of a world class team of experienced permafrost engineers and technologists, many of whom pioneered the successful design and construction of northern infrastructure projects.
Add depth to your project understanding by networking with other groups within our client (transportation, materials engineering, geophysical, ice road engineering, environmental, planning, and marine engineering) and sister companies within the parent company.
Work on a diversity of projects with differing technical challenges to develop and hone your skills set.
Take ownership and develop your career path within our client with yearly career path evaluations, together with many opportunities in professional development and training, such as Building Consultants (internal), Project Management Boot Camp (internal), and Permafrost Engineering course (U of A.).
The successful candidate will focus on numerical modeling and analysis for a broad range of geotechnical applications in heavy civil engineering and resources based projects, as well as participating in project management, design, geotechnical investigation, and construction management/supervision.
Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical specialization)
Eligible for registration as a professional with APEGA within one year of joining our client.
Have minimum of five years recent and relevant experience, preferably in a consulting engineering practice or in a resource-based industry such as mining or oil and gas.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license.
