For our client, a Canadian oil & gas company, we are looking for a Quality Assurance/Control Inspector to join their team in Fort McMurray. You will be reporting to the Chief Inspector. You will provide daily inspection support to your assigned area of the plant, conduct inspections of new and in-service equipment and piping, assist in the management and maintenance of the owner-user and reliability programs, as well as maintenance of the pressure equipment database. Also, the QA/QC Inspector will be required to assist in the set-up of programs and development of procedures and standards for the implementation of a successful owner-user, reliability, risked based, and condition monitoring programs.
Responsibilities
Ensure that all personnel and contractors meet the requirements of the owner-user program and the Reliability and Risk based programs by the way of inspections and audits
Complete Non-Destructive Examination and testing as required
Monitor and supervise quality repair and alteration work in the field, at shops, and with local suppliers
Facilitation of Root Cause Failure analysis and problem solving as required
Support reinstatement of repairs and alterations, of pressure equipment, good understanding of valves, flanges, and bolting is required
Corrosion survey inspection and acting on results to ensure repair or replacement occurs before failure of the component
Support capital projects through identification of proper materials and weld procedures for the specific application, assist with identification and application of the appropriate codes and standards
Pre-Start Safety reviews, and Management of Change Coordination and Implementation
Documentation management and control for all quality documents
Clear and accurate reporting is critical, the candidate must have a strong command of the English language, and technical descriptions of components
Manage and lead small teams for condition monitoring
Qualifications
Must hold a valid API 510 Inspector Certificate and an Alberta ABSA In Service Inspector Certificate for Pressure Vessels and Boilers
Completion of a Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials or Welding Engineering Technology Program and certified or be eligible for registration with ASET
Minimum 5 years' experience as an In Service Inspector in the petrochemical, refining, or upgrading industry is desired
Significant experience with in-service inspections of pressure equipment, boilers, fired heaters, tanks, PSV's, and pressure piping is essential
Preference will be given to candidates with an API-570, API-653, NB-23 or CWB level 2 certifications
CGSB level 2 NDT certifications is desirable
Experience in an Upgrader environment is a definite asset
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Strong administrative and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
